Every figure in D-N7 is computed at a guessed scale factor. The tablet's panel is 3000 × 1920 physical. Its logical size is that divided by whatever density Android reports, and nothing in the repository records it.
Why it matters
The two plausible answers put the dock's numbers far apart:
dock-height(N7) and the column count in the dock (N9, which needs a third of the width to clearPANEL_MIN_WIDTH) both depend on which it is.Deliverable
apply_layout_classcall inui/dr-ui/src/lib.rs, at a level that reachesadb logcat.docs/ui-navigation.mdD-N7 and correct its table if they move it.#30 (NFR-COMPAT-1) wants a reference device named; this is one of the numbers that names it.
Acceptance
dock-heighthas been checked against the measured portrait heightSpec:
docs/ui-navigation.mdD-N7 and N6.Implemented on branch
dev/log-window-metrics(commitsed061b8,d8188c4), merged intointegrate/portrait-dock. One line per orientation or scale change at info, the rest at debug; verified on X11:window: 850x1131 logical at scale 2.00 (1700x2262 physical)fires once when the window is turned tall. Still to do: run it on the tablet and record the numbers in D-N7.Progress check (2026-09-24). The metrics logging is on master (
window_metrics_leveland its caller inui/dr-ui/src/lib.rs), via other commits rather than ed061b8/d8188c4. Still to do: readadb logcaton the tablet in both orientations, replace D-N7's guessed scales (2.0 / 1.75) and checkdock-height. The panel is 400 dpi, which suggests a scale of 2.5 and about 768 logical px across in portrait — to confirm. This also covers the tablet check for #51.
