A few days ago, emissions did show up in various channels.
I was not able to record them though.

since two days I do not even see the emissions anymore.

I did a fresh install of jellyfin on local (tuxed/ubuntu) and then installed the plugin using the quick install method of adding the repo https://gitea.tourolle.paris/dtourolle/jellyfin-srfPlay/raw/branch/master/manifest.json
keeping all default option values.

all I'm getting is

Sport Livestream Recordings
Upcoming Sport Livestreams
Select livestreams to record. The recording starts automatically when the stream goes live.
Error loading schedule: Unexpected end of JSON input

Scheduled & Active Recordings
Error: Failed to execute 'json' on 'Response': Unexpected end of JSON input

Completed Recordings
Error: Failed to execute 'json' on 'Response': Unexpected end of JSON input

in the log nothing is showing up but:

in the library as a user I can see the emissions showing up, but I can't record from there?

(also the files do show up, but I can't play them, they are stuck)

Hi, just seeing this now. Indeed recording seems to have a regression. I'll try and look into it this weekend.

Are you using jellyfin 11 or 12?

I had a chance to look into it today, the latest release might fix it. I am in the states for work so cannot easily test.

oh, no worries, it is not at all time-critical.
I'll try to test it if I can figure out how I can update it to the nightly

yes, the schedule comes up again!
let's see if it does record - I did not successfully do that so far.
but recording is scheduled for today.

@dtourolle I can conform it works.

only two remarks:

  1. the recording doesn't show up in Recordings in SRF Play - I think this was a misconception on my part. the Recordings is probably for a recording function on SRF Play itself
  • but it also didn't show up anywhere else, I just had to add /var/lib/jellyfin/SRFRecordings/ as a library to see the recording.
  1. on my main server I have my data on a nas and so in a directory outside /var/lib/jellyfin/ why I configured the directory for the recordings in the plugin to /media/mount/video/jellyfin-recordings/srf - which failed at first due to the service being restricted to access that directory
  • I've been surprised by this because I already have libraries added to jellyfin in /media/mount/video/movies, /media/mount/video/series, /media/mount/video/music ...
but obviously it's necessary to explicitly allow the service to write to a certain directory.

maybe this could be mentioned in the config instructions:

  1. generally: add a library for the recordings path (default path /var/lib/jellyfin/SRFRecordings )
  2. if an alternative path for the recording is selected, make sure that:
    a) the directory has write permission user and the the path traversal is readable and executable for the jellyfin user
    check with
    namei -l /media/mount/video/jellyfin-recordings
    b) allow the service to write to that directory (it might otherwise be sandboxed)
    sudo systemctl edit jellyfin.service
    and add
    [Service]
    ReadWritePaths=/media/mount/video/jellyfin-recordings
    then reload the service
    sudo systemctl daemon-reload
    sudo systemctl restart jellyfin

then it works.

thanks for the awesome module!

Honestly recording is a prototype feature, just found a few bugs today. Thanks for your feedback I'm going to add a way to set the recording folder and also prevent it being indexed.
